Accountant
Bakewell & Mulhare LLC, an established public accounting firm in New Milford, CT, is seeking a full-time accountant. We are looking for an individual who is organized, a team player, and a strategic thinker. The individual must have the ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and communicate effectively. Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain accounting records and general ledger for all assigned client accounts
- Review client income statements, balance sheets, and general ledgers for accuracy
- Perform reconciliations on all balance sheet items including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, liabilities, and capital accounts
Requirements
- Must have a high degree of knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping
- Good written and oral communication skills are required
- Able to work effectively, pleasantly, and professionally with supervisors, colleagues, and clients
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with QuickBooks is a must
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure, establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Dependable, self-starter, and motivated
- Ability to prepare sales tax and payroll tax returns a plus
- Familiarity with business income taxes is a plus
